About National Digital Library of India (NDLI)

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search and browse facilities but also provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time.

NDLI provides user group-specific services such as examination preparatory resources for school and college students and job aspirants. Services for researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content in any language and provides interface support for ten widely used Indian languages.

It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and lifelong learners, across all disciplines, and for all popular forms of access devices including facilities for differently-abled learners. It enables people to learn and prepare using best practices from across the world and helps researchers perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. NDLI is developed, operated and maintained by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

Free Access for All

Access to the National Digital Library system is free of charge for everyone. Users can browse and view full-text contents available in the library. To use the library, users must first register on the NDLI website. Registration is open to users from around the world. After registration, users can log in with a user ID and password to access full-text content under National Licensing.

1. Enhance knowledge, skill sets, personality traits and leadership qualities.
2. Every participant receives a Certificate of Participation by joining an event.
3. Reward Points: Some events allocate reward points to students. Participants earn reward points by uploading outcomes of activities to the club portal. Uploaded outcomes such as essays or stories are reviewed and reward points are allocated and accumulated for each member.
