The Principal of Vaagdevi Engineering College, Dr. M. Sheshidhar, serves as the Chairperson of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Dr. K. Sharmila Reddy, Professor, Department of CSE, is the Coordinator and Dr. Ramesh G, Professor, Department of CSE, is the Co-Coordinator. The IQAC committee includes faculty, students, alumni, management, industry, and society representatives.

Responsibilities of IQAC Cell
    The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement by planning, monitoring, and enhancing academic and administrative processes in line with higher education standards.

  • Academic Quality Assurance
    • Develop and monitor quality benchmarks for teaching–learning in engineering programs.
    • Ensure implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) including CO–PO mapping, attainment calculations, and continuous improvement.
    • Review syllabus coverage, teaching plans, laboratory manuals, and practical sessions.
    • Ensure proper conduct of internal assessments, project evaluations, and end-semester examinations.
  • Curriculum Enhancement & Industry Integration
    • Facilitate revision of syllabi aligned with industry expectations, emerging technologies, and skill-oriented courses.
    • Promote industry–institute collaborations, internships, industrial visits, and expert talks.
    • Encourage value-added courses (VAC), NPTEL/SWAYAM courses, and professional certifications.
  • Research, Development & Innovation Promotion
    • Encourage faculty and students to publish research papers, file patents, pursue funded projects, and participate in conferences.
    • Support incubation, startup activities, innovation challenges, hackathons, and IIC activities.
    • Facilitate training on research methodology, ethics, and advanced engineering tools.
  • Quality Monitoring & Documentation
    • Prepare and submit AQAR, SSR, NIRF, AISHE, NBA program files, and other statutory documents.
    • Maintain systematic documentation of academic, administrative, and student-centric activities.
    • Implement internal and external academic audits for all departments.
  • Faculty Development & Capacity Building
    • Organize FDPs, workshops, seminars, and hands-on training in emerging engineering domains.
    • Facilitate professional development including pedagogical training and ICT-enabled teaching.
    • Promote participation in NPTEL, MOOCs, and professional societies (IEEE, ACM, ISTE).
  • Student Support & Engagement
    • Strengthen mentoring, counseling, career guidance, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
    • Monitor student progression, employability, higher education, and entrepreneurship support.
    • Encourage participation in technical clubs, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities.
  • Infrastructure & Learning Resources
    • Ensure continuous improvement in laboratories, classrooms, workshop resources, computing facilities, and library services.
    • Promote usage of LMS, ERP systems, online assessment tools, and digital learning resources.
    • Recommend upgrades to meet NBA, NAAC, and AICTE standards.
  • Governance, Ethics & Institutional Best Practices
    • Strengthen transparent administrative processes, financial practices, and academic governance.
    • Promote environmental sustainability, green campus initiatives, energy audits, and waste management.
    • Ensure gender sensitization, inclusivity, safety, and adherence to the code of conduct.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collect and analyze feedback from students, faculty, alumni, employers, and industry experts.
    • Conduct regular review meetings with HoDs, committees, and academic bodies.
    • Strengthen alumni networks and industry partnerships including MoUs and placements.
  • Accreditation & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and accreditation/ranking activities.
    • Conduct periodic gap analysis and ensure closing of the loop for continuous improvement.
    • Develop, monitor, and revise quality policies, SOPs, and strategic plans.
